Having grown up in Hawai’i I have seen our city change drastically over the years. I work for a company that had to move twice because of the developments in the Ward Avenue and Kaka’ako area of Honolulu. The first move was from the iconic IBM building to The Ward Plaza, where i met a resident cat. Some who worked in the building named her Ms. Piggy because she was fed by different people throughout the day. I called her Kitty. I documented her unaware that The Ward Plaza would soon be demolished to make way for more development. Kitty became a symbol of those who are losing their place and their home to these changes. I have returned to the site to find Kitty but have been unsuccessful. I hope she found a new home and that one day I will see her again.
